Servings 4 slices

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla optional
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • cooking oil for frying vegetable oil, or any neutral-flavored oil)
  • syrup

Instructions

  • In a shallow dish or bowl, crack open the eggs, and add the heavy cream. Whisk them together until well beaten.
  • Add a pinch of salt, sugar, vanilla (optional), and continue to whisk to the mixture.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture one at a time. Make sure to coat both sides evenly but don't let them sit too long in the mixture as they may become soggy.
  • Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add some oil to prevent sticking.
  • Once your pan is hot enough, place the soaked bread slices onto it. Cook until golden brown on one side (about 2-3 minutes) before flipping over to cook on the other side.
  • Once done, transfer the French toast to a serving plate.
  • Drizzle with syrup, and enjoy!
